How can I help?
Answers to the most common questions – and a direct line to me if something is missing.
Found a bug or have an idea for Sailforce? Send it to me right here using the form – no email app needed.
Report a bug or send an ideaCancel a subscription
- Open Settings on your iPhone or iPad.
- Tap your name at the top, then Subscriptions.
- Choose Sailforce Pro and tap Cancel Subscription.
Cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period so the subscription doesn’t renew. Pro stays active until the end of the period you’ve paid for. You don’t need to cancel the trip pass – it ends by itself after one week.
Restore purchases
New device or reinstalled the app? Open the settings in Sailforce (gear icon) and, in the “Sailforce Pro” section, tap Restore purchases. Sailforce then checks with Apple (the check runs via the RevenueCat service, using a random identifier without name or email address) whether an active subscription or a running trip pass belongs to your Apple ID and unlocks Pro. You don’t need an account with me.
Refunds
Because payment runs through the App Store, only Apple can issue refunds – unfortunately I have no access to that. You can request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com. If you were charged after cancelling, the cancellation was probably less than 24 hours before renewal; check under Settings → your name → Subscriptions.
Frequently asked questions
Does Sailforce work offline?
Yes. The simulation runs entirely on your device and works without an internet connection – there’s often no signal on board. When a connection is available, the app briefly fetches current prices and your purchase status at launch; purchases and restoring purchases need an internet connection.
What data do you collect?
Almost none. There is no account, no tracking and no analytics services. Settings stay on your device only. At every launch, the app sends a random identifier (without name or email address) and technical details (such as app version and device type) to the RevenueCat service to fetch current prices and your purchase status; purchases add Apple’s purchase receipts. The free 2D view also works entirely without internet. Details are in the privacy policy for Sailforce.
How does the trip pass work?
The trip pass unlocks all Pro features for one week. It is a one-off purchase, does not renew and ends by itself after seven days.
The app shows the wrong language.
Sailforce follows your device language. If you have several languages set up on your iPhone or iPad, you can choose the language for Sailforce in the iOS settings under Apps → Sailforce → Language.
How accurate are the speeds?
Sailforce is a learning model for a typical 38–40 ft charter yacht. The values are guide values – boat type, load, sail condition, sea state, current, fouling, gusts and the crew all play a part in reality.
Question not listed?
Send me an email. Helpful details: your device (iPhone or iPad), the iOS version, what you did and what happened – a screenshot is welcome. I usually reply within a few working days.
